Is TVS Scooty Pep Plus India's No. 1 affordable scooter?

The TVS Scooty Pep Plus is smallest scooter made by Hosur-based bikemaker. It provides a practical and hassle-free choice for daily commutes because of its lightweight and agile design.

Design
Due to its adorable appearance and low size, the Scooty Pep Plus is still a small puppy. The vibrant colours emphasise its youthfulness, and its design, which draws inspiration from the 1990s, is visually pleasing. The vivid Princess Pink hue is still quite divisive.

Specifications
Engine and Gearbox
An 87.8 cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel injected engine that generates 5.43 PS at 6500 rpm and 6.5 Nm at 3500 rpm powers the TVS Scooty Pep Plus. The CVT unit is used to supply this electricity. With a curb weight of only 93 kg, the scooter should be quite easy to manoeuvre.

Performance
It's surprising that at 5.3 bhp and 6.5 Nm of torque, it produces more power and torque than the BS4 variant, even with the more restricted emissions. Drum brakes with synchronized braking technology are used at both ends to apply brake pressure (SBT).

Features
The TVS Scooty Pep Plus has a unique 'EZ-centre' main stand that claims a 30 percent decrease in effort, an analogue instrument console, a halogen headlamp, and an LED DRL positioned on the apron. A side-stand alarm and a USB charging outlet are further optional features. A 3D logo and a unique seat pattern are two of the modest cosmetic upgrades included in the Matte Edition model.

Other features
With its multicurve ignition system and enhanced pick-up, the Advanced Ecothrust Engine of the TVS Scooty Pep Plus ensures dependable, comfortable, and long-lasting rides while offering optimal mileage and performance.

Suspension and Brakes
The underbone frame of the TVS Scooty Pep Plus has a monoshock suspension in the back and a telescopic fork up front. With its lightweight design and 10-inch alloy wheels that have CBS-equipped drum brakes on both ends, this scooter has a ground clearance of 135mm and a seat height that is comfortably accessible at 760mm. There are 4.2 litres of petrol in the tank

Pros
  • Acquires a lively engine.
  • Simple to install on the chair.
  • Fantastic pricing.
Cons
  • May have a better suspension system installed.
  • Outdated design and frame.
