Mahindra will likely launch the five-door Thar in January 2023

Mahindra’s long wheelbase Thar is expected to be priced from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom)

The five-door Thar will get the same engine options as the off-roader’s three-door version, possibly in a slightly retuned state: a 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. These engines should get the option of both six-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The new Thar may not get 4WD as standard but it could get an affordable 2WD option

The feature list may include auto climate control, rear AC vents and push button start/stop over the existing features of the three-door Thar.

The five-door Thar will be a rival to the five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha.
