Heritage Customs Introduces Exclusive Land Rover Defender Convertible

Heritage Customs, a Dutch company specializing in custom vehicle construction, has commenced production of a distinct Land Rover Defender convertible at its facility in the Netherlands. Only five units of this exclusive Defender convertible, named the Valiance Convertible, will be manufactured.

Unique Features and Design Modifications
Derived from the latest L663-generation Defender 90 model, the Valiance Convertible undergoes extensive alterations, including the installation of a sixth seat, bespoke leather interiors, forged wheels, and various interior and exterior enhancements. Painted in Sunbeam Yellow with contrasting black accents like the roll cage and front bonnet plates, the vehicle boasts a handcrafted fabric top that can be electronically operated. Inside, the bespoke ambiance is enhanced by black quilted upholstery with yellow stitching, aluminum paneling, and an additional passenger seat strategically positioned in the front row.

Cost Considerations and Previous Endeavors
The customization package for the Valiance Convertible is reported to cost GBP 58,000, excluding any modifications to the powertrain, which remains in its factory configuration based on customer preference. Niels van Roij, co-owner of Heritage Customs, emphasizes that the convertible design pays tribute to the Defender's iconic heritage and soft-top body style.

Pioneering Coachbuilding
Heritage Customs and van Roij have a history of introducing unconventional coach-built models. Previous creations include a shooting brake based on the Rolls-Royce Wraith and an estate-bodied Tesla Model S.

Upcoming Developments
Heritage Customs teases an upcoming drop-top conversion, described as the "next iteration of the Heritage Customs Valiance Convertible," slated for unveiling in the near future.
