Is MG Hector Blackstorm edition going to Launch on April 10?

The MG Hector Blackstorm edition variant has been formally teased and is scheduled to arrive on April 10. The third vehicle in the manufacturer’s portfolio to receive the Blackstorm special treatment is the MG Hector.
Highlights
  • The MG Hector Blackstorm’s all-black exterior paint with red inserts is displayed in the teaser.
  • Additionally, it will have red-painted brake callipers on the front of all-black alloy wheels.
  • To employ the identical 2-litre diesel and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine choices.
  • Anticipated to be priced approximately Rs 30,000 more than its standard equivalent variations.

Recently, a number of automakers have started to release limited-edition blacked-out versions of their vehicles, which include sportier interior and external design aspects in addition to an outer body tint of black. The MG Gloster was the first SUV to receive the Blackstorm treatment, then the MG Astor, and now the MG Hector will be the third SUV to receive the all-black version.

Design
MG has fully disclosed Hector Blackstorm’s fascia with the release of the official teaser. The Hector Blackstorm will have an all-black exterior hue with red inlays around the headlight housing and on the ORVMs, just like the earlier Blackstorm versions of the Gloster and Astor. Additionally, red-painted brake callipers and blacked-out alloy wheels are shown in the teaser photo. The ‘Blackstorm’ nameplate is also visible on the fender.

Based on the all-black Gloster and Astor models that came before it, the Hector Blackstorm is anticipated to have an all-black dashboard with red inlays, even though MG hasn’t yet revealed the inside of the vehicle. It should be noted that MG has only hinted about the Blackstorm version of the Hector 5-seater, not the 6- and 7-seater Hector Plus.

Expected to be No Feature Changes
Expected feature enhancements are limited to the all-black paint job and other exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades. To put things in perspective, the Hector is equipped with a tonne of features, including a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and 8-colour ambient lighting. Up to six airbags, an all-around camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and a number of cutting-edge driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are all part of its safety package.

Powertrain Selections
It is probable that the engine options available for the ordinary Hector—diesel and petrol—will also be available for the Blackstorm edition of the MG Hector. Their specifications are:
  1. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine generates 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 6-speed MT/CVT
  2. The 2-litre diesel engine generates 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 6-speed MT.

Expected Price
The MG Hector Blackstorm edition may fetch an extra Rs 30,000 than the standard trim levels. The Hector is currently available for between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 21.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Mahindra XUV700’s blacked-out option and the Tata Harrier Dark versions will be rivalled by the MG Hector Blackstorm. It will also be a high-end competitor for vehicles like the Hyundai Creta N Line and the Kia Seltos X-Line.
