Is Ather Rizta Ev best for Family rides?

The new Ather Rizta EV scooter is the second model line from Ather Energy and is marketed as a family scooter after the Ather 450. Ather Energy claims that in addition to emphasising comfort, convenience, and safety, the Rizta also has innovative connected functions and safety measures. The longest seat of any scooter now available for purchase in India, whether it be electric or gas-powered, is the main talking point, but the Ather Rizta is more than just that.

Design
The Ather Rizta features a delicate, endearing design language that is both safe and conventional. Because of its positioning as a useful and convenient family scooter, the Ather Rizta has a safe and conventional design. Its futuristic, yet simple, lighting and details seem to be modelled after the iQube rather than the rounded design language of the Chetak, which is the Rizta’s primary rival. The 7-inch TFT console on the Ather Rizta Z variations is more feature-rich than the DeepView screen on the base S model.

Specifications
Battery
The Ather Rizta comes in two battery sizes. The 350W Ather portable home charger and 2.9 kWh battery pack are included with the Ather Rizta S and Z, while the top-tier Rizta Z comes with a 3.7 kWh battery and a 700W Ather Duo charger for home charging.

Performance
A top speed of 80 kmph is stated for the Ather Rizta. The three variants of the Rizta perform identically. Peak torque is stated to be an amazing 22 Nm, while maximum power is measured at 4.3 kW, or roughly 5.8 bhp. All three versions promise a top speed of 80 kmph and an acceleration time of 4.7 seconds from 0 to 40 kmph.

Features
A 7-inch DeepView instrument console with a Cortex Series processor, Real Time Operating System (RTOS), 8GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM are included in the base S model. The 7-inch TFT console that comes with the top-spec Rizta Z and mid-spec Z versions has a Snapdragon 212 Quadcore 1.3 Ghz processor, an Open Source Android operating system, 16 GB of storage, and 2 GB of RAM. All three types include screens that are rated IP65, meaning they are resistant to dust and water.

Charging
Owners of Rizta vehicles will have access to Ather’s extensive fast-charging network, which boasts over 1,800 fast charging stations. The top-spec 3.7 kWh battery pack type is said to have a single charge range of 160 km, while the 2.9 kWh battery pack variants have a stated range of 123 km.

Storage
The primary underseat storage section beneath the seat has 34 liters of capacity, and there is a smaller storage room adjacent to the hinge of the flip-open seat for storing extra small items. There is a typical pillion backrest on the grab rail located at the tail section. For those who need more storage space, there is also an optional 22-litre Frunk accessory available.

Brakes
The Ather Rizta is equipped with a combination braking system (CBS) that includes a 200 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake. It has 12-inch alloy wheels that are fitted with tubeless tires.

Safety
A new traction control system from the 450 range in addition to the current safety measures. In order to prevent loss of control in low-friction situations, Ather Energy’s traction control technology, known as SkidControl, is introduced with the Ather Rizta. The Ather Drive Controller, an internal motor control system, supports the SkidControl system.

Other Safety Features
The Ather 450 model range already has extra safety features, including FallSafe, Emergency Stop Signal, Theft and Tow Detect, and Find My Scooter systems. The Rizta now has all of the ride aid technologies found in the 450 series, such as AutoHold, Reverse Mode, and MagicTwist, which is essentially a regen-powered braking system with opposing throttle input.

Colours
The Rizta Z will be available in seven colour variants, comprising three monotone and four dual-tone colour options, in contrast to Ather’s three monotone colour options for the Rizta S.
