Departing from the powerful 585hp V8 engine in the GT 63, the GT 43 opts for a milder yet efficient 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine borrowed from the AMG A 45 S. This alteration results in a car that is notably lighter and more agile, with distinct visual characteristics.
Performance and Specifications:
The GT 43 sheds approximately 120kg compared to its counterpart, weighing in at 1,775kg. Despite the reduction in power, with 421hp and 500Nm of torque, it still maintains a respectable performance, accelerating from 0 to 100kph in 4.6 seconds. Notably, it boasts a more favorable weight distribution, enhancing its handling dynamics.
Design and Visual Differences:
Visually, the GT 43 adopts a less aggressive styling approach, featuring a smaller front grille and redesigned front bumper. The wheel arches accommodate smaller 19-inch alloys, deviating from the larger 20-inch ones found in the V8 variant. These alterations contribute to a more subtle aesthetic, distinguishing it as the entry-level model in the GT lineup.
Technological Features:
The GT 43 shares several technological features with its higher-end siblings, including rear-wheel steering for enhanced cornering capability. Additionally, it maintains the same suspension setup as the GT 63, employing a five-link configuration paired with adaptive twin-valve dampers.
Market Availability:
While the GT 43 is not slated for release in certain markets like India, Mercedes-AMG offers other models such as the GT four-door coupe. Pricing for these models begins at Rs 3.3 crore, reflecting the brand's commitment to delivering luxury and performance to discerning customers.
