The new BMW 5 Series is larger, more capacious, more comfortable, and filled with features. It also has the M Sport package included. As a result, the front bumper's air intakes are larger, the side skirts are more voluminous, and the rear bumper features a diffuser design.
Design
The new BMW design language, which is currently widely used on SUVs, is incorporated into the new 5 Series. It shifts from having softened edges to having sharper lines as a result. The kidney grille's form and the bumpers are where this is most noticeable. A complete LED light package, 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, wrap-around taillamps, and contrast-colored tips for the twin exhausts are just a few of the significant changes over the previous generation of the vehicle.
The interior of this next generation 5 Series from BMW features a single-piece curved touchscreen, multi-zone climate control, a Bowers and Wilkins music system, auto parking, a panoramic sunroof, linked car technology, and the most recent version of the iDrive system.
Specifications
Engine and Gearbox
There is only one 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine available for the 5 Series. When equipped with an eight-speed AT, this petrol engine in the 30i variant generates 258 horsepower and 400 Nm.
Performance
Its ride now seems almost luxuriously absorbing. It flattens undulations, rolls over bumps, and manages potholes without letting much noise, vibration, or impact enter the cabin. The rough and occasionally crashy ride is no more, especially when navigating square-edged bumps.
Features
In terms of features, the new 5 has a 360-degree camera, four zones of climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, and wireless charging for both front and back passengers. It inherits the 7 Series' curved one-piece digital display, which features enormous 14.9-inch entertainment and 12.3-inch driver information panels behind the steering wheel.
Other features
The MMI system's display is clear, its touch sensitivity is calibrated nicely, and even though it still has menus inside menus, it's more user-friendly than the original iDrive.
Safety
Several airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), cornering braking assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are all parts of the safety. The 5 Series features eight airbags and an NCAP certification of five stars.
