TVS Motor has finally released the top-of-the-line iQube ST electric scooter, which retails for Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), after first announcing it back in May 2022. The iQube S 3.4 kWh, which was the most expensive iQube variant until recently, is now about Rs 40,000 less expensive than the ST, which has the largest battery of any electric scooter available in India and is not eligible for subsidies under the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme.
Highlights
- The entry-level TVS iQube, which costs Rs 95,000, now comes with a 2.2 kWh battery.
- The top-of-the-line iQube ST can go up to 150 kilometres in real life.
- The iQube ST has a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen and comes with two battery options.
- The two colours of the entry-level iQube with a 2.2 kWh battery will be the only ones offered.
- The 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen on the iQube ST models includes voice assistance, Alexa connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation.
This will give the ST 5.1 kWh a real-world range of up to 150 kilometres, according to TVS, which is approximately 50 kilometres farther than the iQube ST 3.4 kWh. Nevertheless, the iQube ST is only available with a 950-watt charger for both models. TVS estimates that an 0-80% charge for the ST 5.1 kWh will take four hours and 18 minutes, and a full charge will probably take closer to six hours.
A key upgrade from the standard, non-touch display on the iQube S is a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen seen on the iQube ST models. The iQube ST is available in Copper Bronze Matte, Coral Sand Satin, Titanium Grey Matte, and Starlight Blue colors. The cycle, power output, and motor components are the same as those found in the remainder of the iQube range.
A basic iQube with a 2.2 kWh battery pack is another new model for 2024. This variant is priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom, including EMPS subsidy) at launch; after the initial deal expires, it will increase to Rs 1.07 lakh. The business claims that the iQube will have a real-world range of up to 75 kilometres with the smaller battery. The top-of-the-line iQube ST, which was first revealed in May 2022, is now available for purchase; it costs Rs 40,000 more than the iQube S.
The iQube 2.2 kWh is only available in two colours: pearl white and walnut rown. It can be fully charged in two hours and has a somewhat lower top speed of 75 kmph and slightly less underseat storage space (30 litres). It's interesting to see that TVS offers two battery alternatives for the iQube ST. The more costly model has a 5.1 kWh (installed) battery with a usable capacity of about 4.5 kWh, while the more cheap ST, which costs Rs 1.55 lakh, has the same 3.4 kWh battery pack as the iQube S.
