Is Volkswagen Taigun Price Dropped to its Lowest Point?

The Volkswagen Taigun prices dropped by over Rs. 1 lakh, starting at Rs. 11 lakh for a limited time only. The most significant price reductions have been applied to the top-spec GT Plus models with extra amenities.

There will soon be more GT versions of the Volkswagen Taigun available. Prior to that, the German carmaker cut the cost of select Taigun small SUV models by up to Rs 1.1 lakh, making them more accessible than previously.
  • Volkswagen has knocked Rs. 70,000 off the price of the Taigun’s base comfortline 1-litre turbo-petrol manual model.
  • The top-of-the-line GT Plus automatic trim of the Taigun is now less than it was previously.
  • Up to Rs. 1.1 lakh has been taken off the cost of the GT Plus Edge automatic trims, which include Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Matte Grey versions.

Engine and Gearbox
Volkswagen provides the Taigun with two different petrol engine options: It has a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 6-speed MT or 7-speed DCT.

Active cylinder deactivation technology is also included with the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engines. In relaxed driving situations, it reduces fuel economy by turning off two of the four cylinders.

The VW Taigun’s higher-end GT Plus models come with features including an 8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic air conditioning, a single-pane sunroof, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The versions with extra amenities include an enhanced sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier, footwell lighting, and electrically adjustable front seats.

Up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear-view camera are among its safety features.
