With the release of their new Envy x360 14 variants in India, HP is upending the premium laptop market. These stylish metal clamshells have a 2-in-1 foldable design that allows you to use them as tablets or regular laptops, and they also have a powerful internal engine.
The centrepiece is a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen that offers more vertical screen real estate thanks to a larger 16:10 aspect ratio. According to HP, it has a screen-to-body ratio of 89.5% and can support a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It’s certified IMAX Enhanced for entertainment, providing an incredibly immersive visual experience.
The Envy x360 14 uses a dedicated neural processing unit for AI acceleration and is powered by the newest Core Ultra CPUs from Intel. HP claims that its NPU allows for up to 65% longer battery life and enables AI-powered features such as noise suppression, background blur, and smart camera tracking.
The laptop has a Microsoft Copilot button on the keyboard to easily launch the AI chatbot for tasks like content creation and guided search in order to take advantage of this specialised NPU chip. We’ll just have to wait and see how it performs in the real world. HP boasts that the laptop lasts up to 14.75 hours despite the strong processor. This seems fantastic for a Windows laptop.
The laptops are equipped with a dedicated key for Microsoft’s new Copilot AI assistant, which may assist with writing assignments, web searches, and other tasks. They run Windows 11. Additional intelligent features include HP’s Studio Effects for intelligent video calling and presence detection, which locks the screen when you walk away.
Regarding design, the convertible chassis contains a 5MP webcam with IR for facial recognition login and weighs a maximum of just 1.4kg. Quad speakers tuned by Poly Studio and up to Wi-Fi 7 connectivity complete the premium experience. The new HP Envy x360 14 is priced at Rs 99,999 and is available in aluminum finishes called Meteor Silver or Atmospheric Blue. In addition, HP is including a complimentary “Creator’s Sling Bag” with the laptop purchase.
