Is Scorpio N Z8 Select the Perfect Balance of Affordability and Luxury?

Mahindra has introduced the Z8 Select variant to its Scorpio N series, set to be available at dealerships starting March 1. Positioned between the Z8 and Z6 trims, the Z8 Select boasts an enticing price range of Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it notably more economical than the Z8 by up to Rs 1.65 lakh.

Notable Differences and Pricing:
In terms of features, the Z8 Select sacrifices the 4WD option available in the Z8, making it a compelling alternative with a price difference ranging from Rs 1.11 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh compared to the Z8, depending on the selected powertrain. Furthermore, it stands above the Z6 with a price variance of around Rs 69,000 to Rs 1.38 lakh.

Variety in Powertrains:
Mahindra offers customers a choice between two powertrains for the Scorpio N Z8 Select: the 203hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine or the 175hp, 2.2-liter diesel engine, each available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Highlighted Features:
The Z8 Select introduces the stylish 'Midnight Black' exterior option to its color range. While it closely resembles the features and safety offerings of the Z8, there are some notable differences. The Z8 Select does not include push-button start, a tyre pressure monitor, dual-zone climate control, power folding wing mirrors, or automatic headlights and wipers.

However, buyers can still relish in luxurious amenities such as 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED lighting, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, rear disc brakes, and a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and ESC.

Overall, the Scorpio N Z8 Select strikes an impressive balance between affordability and luxury, offering a captivating option for SUV enthusiasts seeking a feature-rich vehicle at an attractive price point.
