A 2.0-litre petrol engine and a six-speed automated gearbox combine to produce 154 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque. Conversely, the eight-speed automatic gearbox powers the wheels with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 416 Nm of torque and 184 horsepower.
 
Performance
The 156 PS petrol engine is a very smooth motor that is almost silent when it is idle. It feels comfortable to drive in urban areas, and it accelerates smoothly and linearly. It has a 6-speed AT that shifts smoothly, but occasionally it feels sluggish while shifting down.

The prices of Hyundai Tucson are high because it is a CKD import and not entirely built locally. The Signature model costs Rs 30.17 lakh, while the petrol Platinum variant is priced at Rs 27.69 lakh. While the Signature is priced at Rs 32.87 lakh, the Diesel Platinum model costs Rs 30.19 lakh. The cost of the diesel Signature AWD is Rs 34.39 lakh.
