Is TVS NTorq a Game-Changer in 125cc Scooter Segment?

The TVS NTorq 125 is the sportiest Scooter in the TVS lineup. Many industry-leading features are included, including voice-guided navigation, real-time social media alerts, live sports score updates, and much more. The latest NTorq variants have something for everyone: the base model for those on a budget, the Race XP for those who want performance, and the XT for those who value technology. Unquestionably one of the best scooters in India.

Design
With its muscular styling and overall attractive body design, the TVS NTorq 125 displays sportiness thanks to its sharp body panels, which look great with the flashy graphics and stylish colour schemes. Tall riders can sit comfortably with their elbows slightly bent and maintain an upright riding posture on the NTorq 125, which has always had good seating comfort. This is also the case with the Race XP variant.

Specifications
Engine
A single-cylinder, 124.8cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine producing 9.38PS and 10.5Nm powers the TVS NTorq (Standard, Race, Super Squad & XT). The NTorq 125 Race XP edition, on the other hand, produces 10.2PS and 10.8Nm, which is marginally more than other variants.

Modes
There are two riding modes available: Street, which is best suited for roads with heavy traffic, claims to offer better mileage, and Race, which offers better acceleration and a top speed of 98 kmph.

Performance
Although it can accommodate two riders, the TVS NTorq 125's firmer ride quality helps to maintain its stability when cornering at high speeds. This feature is also present in the Race XP version, where a slightly lower kerb weight and the same suspension system function together. This suspension system, along with the scooter's already wide tyres, has improved manoeuvrability and increased agility.

Features
The TVS NTorq 125 variants are similar in terms of features, but the race XP variant and the XT variant are particularly noticeable. The first scooter with an all-digital TFT instrument cluster with SmartXonnect was the NTorq XT. It has ride analytics, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and alerts related to vehicle diagnostics. Along with the ability to save addresses that you frequently visit, the XT version also has a newly updated voice-assist feature and user interface.

Suspension and brakes
The NTorq has a monoshock setup at the back and a telescopic front fork. While CBS is standard on all trims, the front disc brake is still optional. The NTorq weighs 118 kg (kerb) in total.

Pros
  • Now has higher fuel efficiency than before
  • Not only is the engine smooth and powerful, but it also has some excellent features.
  • Top-notch connectivity and A colour TFT console is also included with the XT version.
Cons
  • Too-low headlamp beam focus.

  • Sharp edges cause the stiff front suspension to feel startling.
