Jeep has launched the all-new Grand Cherokee in India with prices starting from Rs 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is positioned above the Meridian in Jeep India's line up.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 270bhp and 400Nm. It gets a 8-speed automatic transmission. Jeep offers Quadratrac 4x4 system which includes four terrain modes - Sand, Snow, Auto & Sports. The Cherokee features a ground clearance of 215 mm and water wading capacity of 533 mm
In terms of design, the cherokee gets the signature 7-slot grille at the front and a LED headlamp setup. It gets a side chrome strip running above the windows which makes the suv look more classy and premium. The SUV runs on 5-spoke machined alloy wheels.
The SUV is offered in 5-seat configuration, although globally its available in a three-row version. It comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster & a heads-up display.
It also gets - panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, electric tailgate, ADAS, 8-airbags, 360 degree camera, etc
At the launch event, Roland Bouchara, CEO and MD, Stellantis India, said, "As promised, Jeep Grand Cherokee is the fourth model to be Made in India. With the new Grand Cherokee, adventures lovers will have a distinctive blend of luxury, fortified with segment-best features, innovative technology, and composed driving dynamics elevating the brand position to the luxury segment."
The SUV will rival the likes of Mercedes GLE, BMW X5 and Range Rover Velar. Deliveries will commence by end of this month.
