The BMW i5 M60 EV is now open in India for Reservations

The BMW i5 M60 EV has begun taking reservations in India. Based on the latest generation BMW 5 Series, the BMW i5 M60 is the high-performance variant of the i5, with a more potent dual-motor arrangement than the i5 standard.

Highlights
  • BMW allows customers to reserve an i5 M60 xDrive.
  • The car’s introduction date has not been announced by the brand.
  • Can reach 100 kmph from 0 in 3.8 seconds.

Although BMW hasn’t said when prices will be revealed, we anticipate that it will be within the next few weeks. It will likely come with a high price tag because it will be sent to India as a full import. In addition, the brand has not yet unveiled the most recent version of the 5 Series; the regular i5 is anticipated to arrive shortly after.

Battery and Charging
The 81.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers the i5 M60 is made to fit flat beneath the vehicle’s floor. The automobile can have a WLTP range of up to 516 km thanks to this battery. Its 11 kW AC charging capability means that it can be charged for around 8 hours and 25 minutes, from 0% to 100%. In addition, the company will provide a 22 kW wall box charger as an add-on, cutting that time to 4 hours and 25 minutes.

Performance
All-wheel drive and a dual electric motor configuration are hallmarks of the i5 M60 xDrive. When launch control or “Sport” mode are engaged, the combined power output increases to 593 HP and 820 Nm of torque from 509 HP and 795 Nm of torque. By using all of its performance reserves, the i5 M60 can reach a high speed of 230 kmph and go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds.

Features
A few stylistic features, such as the blacked-out “kidney grille” piece and a more aggressive rear diffuser, give the M60 version a sportier look. With a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, the interior design is identical to that of the 5 Series. With its current iDrive 8.5 operating system, which is based on Linux software, the infotainment system can play videos and play games.

Other Features
The vehicle is equipped with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The vehicle also has auto climate control with a micro-filter, heated front seats with four-way power lumbar support, and ambient lighting. Among other safety measures, the vehicle is equipped with a reverse camera and a BMW Active Driving Assistant.

Price
Pricing-wise, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, which is priced at Rs 1.62 crore, and the Audi e-Tron GT, which is priced at Rs 1.72 crore, are anticipated to be more closely aligned with the BMW i5 M60. All costs are ex-showroom.
