The highly anticipated Ather Rizta has finally hit the market with a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh, ranging up to Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with two battery pack options: 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. Initial prices are introductory, and deliveries are set to commence in July.
Design and Features:
Compared to Ather's sporty 450 range, the Rizta boasts a more practical and affordable design. It features traction control, a feature not commonly found in Indian electric scooters. With a spacious 56-litre combined storage capacity, including a 34-litre underseat storage and a 22-litre front trunk ('frunk'), the Rizta offers ample room for belongings.
Performance and Specifications:
Weighing in at 119kg, the Rizta is one of the lighter options in its segment. It has a comfortable seat height of 780mm and a ground clearance of 165mm. The scooter is available in two variants, S and Z, with the latter offering both battery capacities.
Range and Charging:
The 2.9kWh variant claims a range of 123km (IDC), while the 3.7kWh unit offers 160km (IDC) Both battery packs are IP67 certified, and the scooter can wade through water up to 400mm. Charging is facilitated by an underseat multi-purpose charger.
Technology and Accessories:
Ather Rizta is equipped with a traction control system, a first for Indian electric scooters. It features riding modes like Zip and SmartEco, along with reverse, hill-hold, and Magic Twist functionalities. The Z variant boasts a TFT dash, while the S variant comes with a DeepView LCD screen.
Variants, Colors, and Booking:
The Rizta is offered in two variants: S and Z. The Z variant comes in 7 colors and includes a backrest as standard. Bookings are open at authorized Ather dealerships, with deliveries scheduled to start in July.
