Is BYD Seal EV a Luxury Sports Sedan?

The BYD Seal is an electric sedan that was launched in India by a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, on March 5, 2024. A few extra services, like free home charger installation, a 3kW portable charging box, and six years of roadside assistance, are available to those who make bookings before March 31, 2024.

Regarding style, the Seal adopts BYD's "ocean aesthetics" design language and conforms to the Ocean X idea. The front bumper and fender feature arrow-shaped inlays, while the double-U floating LED headlights are mounted on the front. Its back features include a black diffuser, LED taillamps, and an LED light bar across the tailgate. Diamon-cut alloy wheels measuring 19 inches are fitted to the car.

The interior of the Seal is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a spinning 15.6-inch infotainment display. Moreover, it has an ADAS safety suite, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable AC vents, and wireless charging.
There are two battery pack variants for the Seal offered by BYD: 61.44 kWh and 82.56 kWh. Up to 150 kW of charging power can be applied to the seal. This allows for a quick 37-minute charge from 10% to 80% of the battery in the electric vehicle.
  • 510 km is the stated range of a 61.4 kWh battery pack with a single-motor arrangement (204 PS/310 Nm).
  • 650 km is the stated range of an 82.5 kWh battery pack with a single motor arrangement (313 PS/360 Nm).
  • 82.5 kWh battery pack with a dual-motor configuration (560 PS/670 Nm) and a 580 km stated range.
The BYD Seal comes equipped with two wireless phone chargers, a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen display, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and heated and ventilated front seats. It also includes a 6-way powered co-driver's seat, an 8-way powered driver's seat with memory function, and a 4-way lumbar power adjustment for the driver's seat.
The vehicle is equipped with a wide variety of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and auto emergency braking, in addition to nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
There are three variations of the seal available to customers: dynamic, premium, and performance.
  • It has a sleek, stylish style that makes it appear like a fast car.
  • Stylish interior design with a dashboard that seamlessly integrates into the door pads.
  • It is being provided with a well-ranged variation.
  • Sometimes the user interface is perplexing.
  • An expensive EV vehicle is not very common right now.

BYD Seal is priced at Rs. 41 lakh for dynamic,  Rs. 45.55 lakh for premium, and Rs. 53 lakh for performance variant (ex-showroom).
