Is Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid stylish and powerful?

The Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid, with its neo-retro design language, stands out from other scooters in the 125cc class. It is a handsome scooter. Among India's lightest scooters is the Yamaha Fascino.

The Fascino 125 FI has curved panels that appear larger, and the tail part is notably longer. Additionally, Yamaha moved the handlebar 20 millimetres higher and closer to the rider by 18 millimetres. This ought to guarantee ergonomic comfort. The curved exhaust heat shield neatly hides the stubby exhaust shape, complementing the scooter's overall design.

90-section front and 110-section rear tubeless tyres, respectively, are mounted on the 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. It's interesting to note that at 99 kg kerb, the scooter is the lightest 125cc scooter available for purchase in India.

In comparison to the 113cc Fascino, Yamaha's hybrid engine helps the vehicle achieve 16 percent higher mileage and 30 percent more torque when combined with a battery. Its torque output increased from 9.7 Nm to 10.3 Nm as a result. But its 8.2 PS of power is still the same as it was. It still operates with its start-stop and silent start mechanisms.

Alloy wheels, a multipurpose key switch, and a roomy 21-liter under-seat storage compartment are features of the Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid. The Disc variation sports an all-LED headlight with LED DRL and a full-LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity in place of the Drum variant's halogen headlamp and full-analogue instrument console.

There is one rear shock absorber and a telescopic fork included with the Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid. The Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid has alloy wheels as standard equipment, and it is equipped with front tyres measuring 90/90-12 and rear tyres measuring 110/90-10.

The hardware is the same as before: a single rear shock absorber and a telescopic front fork. The Fascino used a drum unit and a 190mm disc up front or a drum and drum at the back for braking, with CBS as standard.

There are two versions of the Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid: drum and disc. Vivid Red, Yellow Cocktail, Cyan Blue, Metallic Black, Cool Blue Metallic, and Dark Matte Blue are the six colour options that are shared by both versions.

  • The styling is somewhat vintage.
  • The 125-cc engine produces respectable performance.
  • Fit and finish are generally rather nice.
  • Not a scooter with lots of features.
  • It lacks a full digital display.
  • Not equipped with a disc brake as standard.

The cost of the disc variant varies depending on the colour option selected, ranging from Rs. 90,830 to Rs. 93,630, while the drum variant is priced between Rs. 79,600 and Rs. 80,600.
