Is new Volvo EV C40 Recharge future of Electric Cars?

The Volvo C40 Recharge is a compact SUV that runs entirely on electricity and combines cutting-edge technology, environmental driving, and Scandinavian style. With a completely electric drivetrain, this beautiful and streamlined car offers a quiet and comfortable ride.

Design
It has a steeply slanted back windscreen and roofline with a coupe-like finish. The tail gate and tail-lamp assembly have been redesigned. It has dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, the front bumper and hood, the contouring on the doors, and the headlamps with Thor's hammer LED Daytime Running Lamps. With redesigned reverse lights and a wider wraparound effect, the tail-lamps are much smaller. A new two-part spoiler has been added, one on the roof with a distinctive twin-pod shape intended to improve aerodynamics and one on the boot lid that has been blacked out. Pixel LED headlights, which are now specific to the C40 Recharge and not available in any other Volvo in India, are another feature.

Inside, the dashboard design is characteristically Volvo and is, logically same as the XC40 Recharge. The rest of it consists of a fully digital instrument cluster, wood inlays on the dashboard, and a 9.0 inch portrait-style touchscreen that is positioned between narrow AC vents. The materials, fit, and finish quality is still up to par for a Volvo. The C40 Recharge is outfitted with an android powered infotainment system that provides instant access to Google Assistant and Maps, as well as a number of PlayStore apps that can be accessed via an onboard e-SIM.

Specifications
Battery
The powertrain configuration and foundation are also the same as they were with the XC40 Recharge. The C40 Recharge in India is built on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform and has two motors, one on each axle, and a 78kWh battery pack for a stated 530 km of range on a single charge on the WLTP cycle. It's interesting to note that, thanks to improved aerodynamics and a newer generation battery, the range has significantly increased over the SUV's stated 418 km range.

Performance
It has all-wheel drive thanks to the two electric motors, which also generate 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, according to Volvo, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the XC40 Recharge. With a 150kW DC charger, the C40 Recharge can quickly charge its batteries, reaching 100% capacity in just 27 minutes.

Features
The 9-inch infotainment system that was co-developed with Google is included with the C40 Recharge. It works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto when connected. Additional useful amenities include a fixed panoramic sunroof, 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, powered tailboard, connected car tech with five years of data, air purifier system and powered front seats with driver memory. Eight airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and, most significantly, advanced driver assistance systems are safety features.

Safety
The automatic emergency braking (AEB) system of the C40 Recharge may react to both other cars and vulnerable road users. When tested for how the system responded to pedestrians, it did so satisfactorily. In numerous test scenarios, crashes were avoided due to the system's effective responsiveness to bicycles.

Variants
Six colours are available for the C40 Recharge's single Recharge Twin trim option: Crystal White Pearl, Onyx Black, Fjord Blue, Cloud Blue, Fusion Red, and Sage Green.
