Key Updates in Dashboard and Features :
While the XUV400 remains mechanically unchanged, significant updates focus on the dashboard and features. A major highlight is the introduction of a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, leading to a redesigned dashboard. The AC vents now underline the screen, and the HVAC panel features two rotary dials. The interior adopts a new black-and-beige dual-tone theme, with additional enhancements like a gloss black garnish, flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument screen.
Advanced Infotainment System and Features :
The new XUV400 Pro series comes equipped with a 10.25-inch floating infotainment screen running on Adrenox software, similar to the XUV700. Notable features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control with memory function, wireless phone charger, Alexa connectivity, and rear USB ports. The all-new digital MID and revised switchgear contribute to an improved user experience.
Enhanced Comfort and Connectivity :
Mahindra has introduced a black-and-beige dual-tone interior theme, steering wheel redesign, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument screen. The inclusion of dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, wireless connectivity options, and rear AC vents enhances comfort and connectivity, addressing previous equipment list gaps.
Mechanical Unchanged, Electric Powertrain Details :
Despite the updates, the XUV400 retains its existing electric powertrain, offering two battery options: 34.5kWh for EC Pro and both 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh for EL Pro. The EL Pro comes with a faster 7.2kW AC charger, while the EC Pro features a 3.3kW AC charger. The claimed ranges are 375km for the 34.5kWh battery and 456km for the 39.4kWh battery, both following the MIDC cycle. The front axle-mounted electric motor delivers 150hp and 310Nm of torque, supported by disc brakes for all four wheels, regenerative braking, and three drive modes.
Comparison with Nexon EV and Future Outlook :
The XUV400's updates bring it closer to competitors like the Nexon EV, although the latter still boasts additional features such as ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, 360-degree cameras, full-width LED light bands, and a larger infotainment screen on the top-spec variant. Mahindra plans to sell the updated XUV400 alongside the outgoing version until stocks are depleted.
