Is Jeep Compass Facelift has Enhanced Features and Performance?

The Jeep Compass facelift has a tonne of latest upgrades that elevate its quality and convenience. When its off-road abilities are fully realised, it appears to be a formidable package; however, expect to pay a high price for this experience. It's a capable SUV, and this upgraded Compass ought to be at the top of your list if you're looking for both the brand name and the capability.

Design
The SUV is characterised by its sleek LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and its seven-slat front grille with chrome inserts. Along with the redesign, the bumper now features LED fog lamps on either side of a black horizontal air intake in the centre. Along with being new, the 18-inch alloys have a new five-spoke, two-tone design.

For the interior, it has a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, which is equipped with FCA's most recent Uconnect 5, which is now situated above the air conditioning vents. Additionally, there is a new three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and an all-digital 10.2-inch instrument cluster. In addition, the cabin has a power tailgate, cruise control, eight-way power-adjustable front seats with a memory function, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, front ventilated seats, and a power tailgate.

Whats new
The Limited (O) 4x4 AT variant has been discontinued by Jeep, and a 2WD diesel AT version known as the Black Shark Edition has been introduced. The ex-showroom price of these versions is Rs. 23.99 lakh. The 'Adventure Assured Programme' has been introduced in India for owners of Jeep Compass and Jeep Meridian by Jeep and ALD Automotive. A guaranteed buyback, an extended warranty, yearly maintenance, roadside assistance, and first-year insurance coverage are just a few of the benefits that the programme provides.

Specifications
Engine and Gearbox
A 2-liter diesel engine (170 PS/350 Nm) powers it. Either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox is matched with the unit. The Compass 4X2 models are also compatible with the 9-speed automatic gearbox, which is also available with an optional 4-wheel drive (4WD) setup.

Performance
When driving, the differences between Facelift and the standard Compass diesel-automatic are hardly noticeable. The gearbox shifts up quickly and smoothly because there are plenty of cogs to play with and a good amount of torque supply right from the start. Additionally, it feels easy and smooth to drive. There is a drawback to this, though: before you get any momentum, the gearbox must shift down a few gears when you really want to get moving.

Features
It features an Alpine sound system, auto lights and wipers, two-zone climate control, cooled front seats, electric front seats with memory for the driver, and lumbar support. The latest UConnect user interface in the new Compass has a large floating touchscreen that we like.

Safety
The Compass is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), rollover mitigation, hill assist, a 360-degree camera, a reverse parking camera, and up to six airbags for safety. The Euro NCAP has given the Jeep Compass a five-star rating.

Variants
Seven variants of the Jeep Compass are available: Black Shark, Limited (O), Sport, Longitude, Night Eagle, Longitude (O), and Model S (O). Jeep Compass is available in seven different colours: Techno Metallic Green, Galaxy Blue, Brilliant Black, Exotica Red, Grigio Magnesio Grey, Pearl White, and Silvery Moon.

Pros
  • Refined, yet still maintains the iconic Jeep character; more sophisticated and upscale.
  • Developed a reputation for employing a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system.
  • Gives a smooth, composed ride at higher speeds on uneven terrain.
  • Updated dashboard, steering wheel, screen, and trim with an ample number of features.
  • Jeep's legacy and heritage result from the brand's history and expertise in off-roading.
Cons
  • More equipment is required to support the cost or give it an advantage.
  • There is too little shoulder room to comfortably seat three people.
  • The Compass's most expensive models can get very pricey.

Price
The base model of the Jeep Compass costs Rs. 20,69 Lakh, while the top model costs Rs. 32.27 Lakh (ex-showroom).
