According to some media reports, Honda has started development on two new SUVs. There will be a new compact SUV and a new mid-size SUV. The name of the new models is not yet known. The new SUVs are expected to launch sometime in 2023
Higher variants of the midsize SUV will also likely get Honda Sensing ,which debuted with the in India.it is essentially Hond's suite of ADAS features and bring functions such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring ,lane-keep assist and more.
The third product in their portfolio will be an all-new midsize SUV. This is being developed for the Indian market and will get high localization to keep the costs in check. It will be based on the Amaze platform. The new SUV will measure 4.2-4.3 meters in length and is expected to be revealed by mid-2023. Sales of this SUV are expected to commence in the festive season.
We haven’t seen any prototypes yet on the road and we expect it to take design inspiration from the new generation SUV. Honda should throw in a ton of new features to compete with the rivals. Engine options are expected to be the same as the 5th gen City which comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol. There will be no diesel engine on offer.
