Toyota Innova Hycross makes India debut; bookings open

The much-awaited Toyota Innova Hycross has finally made its India debut, deliveries to begin from January 2023. Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 50,000 /- The new Hycross uses a monocoque chassis and is based on Toyota's TNGA-C platform.


Innova Hycross gets a bolder SUV-ish design as compared to the Crysta. It features a large hexagonal grille up front with LED headlamps on either side. The front bumper has triangular vents and slim LED daytime running lights, the car runs on bigger 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, Innova Hycross gets roof-mounted spoiler, LED tail-lights and a blacked out rear bumper. Speaking dimensionally, it is 4755mm long and 1850mm wide - both slightly more than Innova Crysta.


The Innova Hycross gets a premium and luxury dual-tone interior. Centre console includes a 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, a gear shifter, an electronic parking brake and other functions. It is offered in 7-seat and 8-seat configurations.

In India, Hycross is available in five variants. The MPV comes equipped with features like paddle shifters, ventilated seats, multi-zone climate control, powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof. It gets 'Toyota Safety Sense' which include advance driver assistance features like lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor etc.




The Innova Hycross is offered in two powertrain options - pure petrol and petrol hybrid. The 2.0 litre non-hybrid petrol engine puts out 172hp. The strong-hybrid version uses 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with Toyota's 5th-gen hybrid tech which makes a combined output of 183hp. Innova Hycross is front-wheel drive and is offered with a CVT only (no manual transmission option) Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 21.1kpl with the strong hybrid version.  


Prices for the new Toyota Innova Hycross will be announced soon and it will be sold alongside the Innova Crysta.
